The well-written plot is a combination of compassion, a touch of drama and characters that are believable, as well as incredibly hilarious.
Having loss their parents to ill health, Calvin’s older brother Nathan is the only family Calvin has left. Calvin and Nathan are very close and do whatever they can to help each other even though their beliefs are extremely different.
Calvin knows if he summons a demon, he will be expected to compensate the demon with sexual favors. That being said, Calvin also knows that summoning Sal for help will be a price he is more than willing to pay since he is already attracted to the sexy demon.
Sal is an unusual demon in that he forms emotional relationships; Sal enjoys socializing with humans and vampires. Vampire prince Valentin and his cousin Basil are Sal’s best friends. Sal secretly loves Calvin though Sal refuses to admit it. The only relatable demon traits Sal has is his enormous sexual appetite, his battle abilities along with his superior magical powers.
S.J. Frost has created an outstanding saga. The interactions between the characters is truly entertaining, I think Sal is my favorite character because he is a clever, boastful, sweet talking, badass. Although Calvin is a badass when necessary, he’s normally a little more reserved than Sal.

A bit of a let down after the previous book but it's fun to read if a little childish for my taste in terms of the behaviors of the characters. Still, it was an amusing read.
Enjoyed book very much and will probably get the series. Thanks for a good stories. Like characters and will get first book to understand some of the other characters.
So much fun and passion! Demon Sallos and witch Calvin have a great story, I enjoyed every moment and could not put it down!
I really love this story!!! It is so romantic and loving!! As soon as I read the first page I could not put it down. I think I have already read it two or three times now. It is awesome!! I definitely look forward to the next volume.
It is the first book that I read from this author and I really loved it.
The book has action and not angsty, you will enjoy funny moments and the smex was great.
It is very different and is one of the books that I have really enjoyed for a while.
I suck at writing reviews however, I felt this book really needed more people that read it and enjoyed it to post. sooooooo.
I loved it. I was amused to no end by Sal and his "pet". I really like Calvin the witch.
The story was interesting and the writing was very good.
The first book in this series "Vampire Prince" is also very good and worth reading.
What I like about these is they are not dark. There is quiet a bit of humor.

As much as I enjoyed the first book, I adored this one. Sal and Beezle were favorites of mine from book one, Vampire Prince, so I was happy to see Sal as an MC in this one. Sal, the Demon Duke, is powerful, but most of all, he is playful. He prefers to spend his time in the human realm with his two vampire buddies, Valentin and Basil, and Valentin's human lover, Sebastian. These four have a 'familial' bond, and their camaraderie is fun, lighthearted, and supportive. Into this world enters Calvin, a powerful, albeit, still a novice, witch.
Sal meets Calvin in the first book, and there is immediate attraction between them but the action doesn't start until Calvin summons Sal to heal his dying brother, Nathan, but truly, Calvin just wants to see Sal again. Sal is just as drawn to Calvin, but he puts up a fight as his feelings grow deeper and more... mushy. The smexy scenes between Calvin and Sal, in both his human and demon forms, are delicious. I really liked that Calvin isn't a 'damsel' in distress. He's a badass in his own right, he's confident in what he wants, and he's strong enough to go after it. Sal's protectiveness kicks in big time re Calvin, and even though Sal tries to protect himself emotionally from Calvin... well, this is a love story, after all.
I really enjoyed revisiting all of the characters from book one in this book as well as meeting some new interesting ones. I liked getting a glimpse of the demon realm, or Demonland, as Sebastian coins Sal's home world. I hope SJ continues this series for awhile since there are so many characters I want to see get their own books. I absolutely love the chosen family these paranormals and humans make with each other. There is enough heat and just enough peril to keep you turning the pages and yearning for more after the book is done, but most of all, there is plenty of humor and playfulness to make these easy rereads for me in the future. Well done, SJ. Please keep these books coming.
Highly recommend. I would definitely read these in order. I don't think it's strictly necessary but your enjoyment will definitely increase if you do.
